I once painted my room in bold navy and white stripes (nautical was having a moment), after a week of barely sleeping, I realized how much the “stress” of that design affected me. Greige was all the rage, so I painted over those stripes and when I tell you zen took over, I have never looked back. For me, a foundation of neutrals sets a calm vibe, then I layer on color, pattern and texture.
